Policies

Payments:
- Payment MUST BE PAID IN FULL on or before the first scheduled visit -

Payment is required ON OR BEFORE THE FIRST SCHEDULED VISIT. If you do not make the payment online or forget to leave payment at the first visit I will contact you directly while you are away. You will be expected to log into your account pay online or use a credit/debit card over the phone with me. There is no option to pay for services when you return. If you insist on paying when you return, this will result in a $25 admin fee on top of the invoice amount AND will void your contract for any and all future pet sitting. The "on or before" has been my policy for over 20 years and is the national standard in Professional Pet Sitting. I have provided the online payment option via PayPal and WePay for your convenience. If you prefer to leave payment I always happily accept cash and local checks.

Additional visits, other fees and charges incurred while you are away will be invoiced and payment is due within 3 days of your return.

General:
  • I reserve the right to refuse service for any reason at any time.  
  • The State of Pennsylvania requires that each Dog must have Proof of Current Dog License, Rabies Tag AND Documentation and any other necessary shots. If for any reason you do not have the license and shots up to date, Critter Care is not responsible or liable for any fines or penalties incurred from authorities.
  • Proof of Rabies shots for cats.
  • Each Dog must wear/have a collar with attached ID and a leash in good working condition, preferably a standard leash and not a retractable style. This will be used for outdoor time, walks and emergency travel.
  • A carrier or other travel equipment must be ready in case of emergency. This may be used to transport the pet himself to the vets office or any emergency where the pets must be relocated.
  • Any collar, standard leash, retractable leash or harness not in safe, good working condition will be replaced at the owners expense. In the event that Critter Care must replace or supply collars or leashes, the cost of replacement item of my choice and $25 fee will be charged and expected to be paid in full within 3 days of clients return.
  • Any cats that are considered indoor/outdoor will be kept indoors during your time away. No exceptions.
  • Dogs and cats that have access to a fenced area and part of the pet sitting care is for them to enter and exit via a “doggy door” will waive any and all liability and responsibility for any client’s pets that become ill, escape, are injured or become lost, fatal or otherwise, or lack of or diminished level of security or damage to the door, doggy door, fence, gates, home, etc. Critter Care reserves the right to refuse any and all care that involves the pets using a doggy door or the like while home/pet owner is away.

House Keys:
I require 2 working/tested sets of keys; 1 for me to carry for visits and the second to be kept at my office in case of emergency. A hide-a-key may be considered, however I will need 1 set of keys to keep.

You must provide and agree to allow me to keep at least 1 set of working house keys to the home for future services. A key must be provided in addition to security codes and/or garage door access at the Meet n' Greet. If you insist on having the house keys picked up and/or returned before and after scheduled visits, I will decline services. This is an inconvenience and unnecessary.

Refusal to supply keys void any and all services or obligation.

2018 Holidays:
An additional fee of $10 per visit per day for the following Holidays:
  • New Years Eve & New Years Day
  • Easter Sunday
  • Memorial Day
  • 4th of July Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

Inclement Weather:
In the event of severe or extreme weather, (i.e. rain storm, ice storm, snow storm, etc.) I will make every effort to drive to your home and perform my services as usual. If the weather is extreme and my service schedule must be changed, delayed, interrupted, or altered due to these severe weather conditions your pets will be taken care of within a reasonable amount of time (no more than 12 hours between visits for dogs) Provisions will be adjusted before I leave your home. Extra water bowls, more pee pads, etc. If it is not possible for me to drive safely or State Of Emergency is declared in our area, your closest emergency contact will be called. In any case, you will be made aware of local weather conditions via your texted/emailed visit notes, direct text messages to your primary cell phone number and if necessary we will speak directly for the best way to handle the worst weather.

Last Minute Request & Same Day Request
  • Same Day or Requests within 48 hours for more than one day will incur $10 per visit for the first day that services commence.
  • All services/visits will be paid before the first scheduled visit either with credit/debit card online or over the phone. No exceptions!
  • - Last minute and Same Day requests are available for current, active clients only.

There is no guarantee to Same Day and Last Minute availability!

My time is valuable and it is important to me that my time at work be accounted for and I will enforce the last minute, same day, cancellation and early return policy.


Cancellations:
  • Pee Break Cancellation - Same Day.  Will be charged 100% of amount of scheduled visit.
  • Trip cancellations canceled within 7 days of first visit will be charged 100% of amount of the first 3 days of service. The remaining balance will be credited if pre-paid. If the amount has not been paid it will be charged to your account. This amount must be paid in full. If the cancellation fee is not paid, Critter Care reserves the right to refuse future service and will void any visits currently scheduled.

Early returns:
  • Early returns will not receive a credit for the same day/day of return.
  • Credits for remaining balance will be made upon request only.
  • Credited visits must be used within 90 days of date returned.
  • No monetary refunds.
